October 2026 Update

Hello Small Ceramics Fans!

This is your Autumnal update about all things Small Ceramics. We appreciate how many people have reached out to us with positive messages. We are incredible grateful for our ceramics community, the love and support has kept us going!

The team has been busily working behind the scenes on iterating designs, building capacity, and pushing forwards with our product development. Here are your updates:

The Lite Wheel:

We have been making the Lite wheel since January 2026, and have been bowled over by the amazing response from our community.

With improved torque and a larger wheel head, we've expanded the clay load from 300g to 500g for beginners, and seasoned potters can now throw 1kg (~2.2lbs) and above. We have seen people creating some really stunning projects, from mini pot jewellery, to mug and bowls.

EU Customers

Sadly, due to changes to EU packaging and WEEE regulations, we can no longer ship within the EU. We have been absolutely devastated by this decision, and it did not come lightly. We tried to find alternatives to closing our EU store, but sadly none of them are viable for our size of operation. Unless the regulation changes for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), we will not be able to ship within the EU.

If you have friends in non-EU countries who could take a shipment for you, then please do reach out, we may be able to set up shipping to new locations. Also, you are always welcome to visit us in London, please book in advance by emailing us at support@smallceramics.com.

Making the Lite Portable:

We have developed a guide to the best options for making the Lite wheel portable. You can find that here.

We have partnered with RubyFire electronics to sell an adaptor that works with most standard drill batteries.

Developing the Pro:

We are focussing on keeping our day-to-day operations strong and sustainable to enable the business to move forward. Our prototypes are almost complete, and we are now working on refining them and considering alternative options to bring our product to market. We are pushing forward with our work to create the best battery powered wheel.

If you have a pre-order for the pro and you are thinking about swapping over to the Lite wheel, please do reach out! We can offer a discount to all the patient people who have been waiting on the Pro.
