May Update 2026

May Update 2026

May 27, 2026Small Ceramics Ltd

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to our May update. It's been a while since our last big update, but development is coming along nicely, and we promise it will be worth the wait. Here's an overview of where things are so far.

🚀 Progress on the Pro Wheel

The last few months have been a really exciting time for us, and we've been pushing things forward across multiple areas of the project.

On the product side, we are now testing the second revision of the electronics alongside updated firmware. This is a key stage for us, where we're refining performance, improving reliability, and making sure the overall experience feels exactly right. It involves a lot of testing, iteration, and small adjustments to get everything working seamlessly in real use. We know how long some of you have been waiting, and getting this right really matters to us.

Alongside this, we've also been focused on how we continue moving at the right pace. The reality is, we need income to put towards this project, and that comes from sales or from investment. At the moment, we can only go as fast as our sales allow! To help with this, we've started speaking with a number of investors. The aim is to give us the support needed to keep progressing and get the Pro Wheel into your hands as soon as possible. If you are interested in investing, please do reach out!

What’s Next?

There are still a lot of moving parts, but everything is heading in the right direction.

Our focus now is to:

  • Continue refining the electronics and firmware through testing
  • Find the right investor to help speed up development and timelines

We will also be reaching out to some local makers to help with product testing - so some of you may get an email from us asking if you'd like to be involved!

🌍 Lite Wheel Available For All Makers- including in the EU

We're so pleased to share that the Lite Wheel will be available to our EU customers. The response has been incredible and we are already working on the next batch, due back in stock for all customers at the end of June!

Customers can find more details about the Lite Wheel here, along with a comparison of the Pro and Lite on our production overview and FAQs blog.

*The Lite Wheel is an updated version of our original Classic Wheel, which has now been discontinued. It is designed to be used with a power lead (mains power) and does NOT have any internal battery.

🔵 Lite Wheel Batts Now Available

Our Lite Wheel batts are finally here!!

The original plan was to produce MDF batts, however after extensive testing we decided not to move forward with this for now, as the chamois material wasn’t consistent enough to meet our standards. Instead, we’ve refined our much-loved 3D printed batts and adapted them for the Lite Wheel, and we’re really pleased with the result.

They are 12cm in width, allowing you to throw even larger pieces. They are currently available in Cyan, with one included with the purchase of your wheel. More colours are expected later in the year, alongside the mini trimmer.

Please note: Lite Batts are not yet available for EU customers, but we’re working on this and will share updates soon.

 💙A Little Reminder

If you'd prefer to switch over to the Lite Wheel, we've made it really easy to do so.

Your pre-order deposit code can be applied at the final stage of checkout to go towards your purchase. It can also be used towards any of our accessories if you'd prefer.

If you can't find your code, just email us with the email address used to place your deposit and we'll get it sent straight over to you.

You can find a full comparison of the Pro and Lite on our production overview and FAQs blog to help you decide what's right for you.

If you were holding out for a Pro because you value portability, please note that our Lite wheels can be made portable with an adaptor and an external battery (such as a standard drill battery from Dewalt, Ryobi, Makita). You will be able to find an article about that on our site shortly.

📋 Production Overview & FAQs

Finally, we’ve created a dedicated production overview and FAQs blog, where we’re sharing progress updates and answering the most common questions about the Pro. We’ll continue updating it as things move forward, so if you’d like to follow along more closely between these updates, you can find it here.

Thank you all so much for following along, it genuinely means a lot, especially hearing from so many of you who have reached out.

We’ll be back in touch soon with another update.

Happy potting,
Daisy & Stefano 🩵
