The new Small Pottery Wheel monthly update: July

The new Small Pottery Wheel monthly update: July

Hello again everyone and welcome to the belated July update!

It’s been a little bit more quiet on my page recently, but lots has been happening (as always it seems!) behind the scenes at Small Ceramics HQ.

As I have previously stated, we have run into issues with some suppliers we were working with on our new wheel which has put us back quite a way. The situation is far from ideal, so to bridge the gap between now and our new wheel being ready for purchase we are making a huge batch of our classic 3D model. The benefit of doing this is that those who have been waiting months and want a wheel ASAP can get one very soon, and we have been able to try making it in some new beautiful colours.

We have decided that the first batches of our 3D printed wheels will be made available firstly to the customers who have purchased a pre-order deposit from us, and then we will open orders to the public. So if you have purchased one, keep an eye out for an email coming very soon, it will have a special link that you can use to buy a wheel before anyone else!

You can use your pre-order deposit towards the purchase of one of these wheels. To do so, just take the 16-digit code from your deposit and paste it into the ‘Gift Card’ box at the checkout.

We have also hired two lovely employees to help us over this next few months with all the workload we currently have, including maintaining our 3D printers and designing new products! I’ve put a few sneak peeks on my insta stories of our behind-the-scenes and we are really excited to start growing our Small Ceramics family!

The other exciting thing coming up this month is that we will be exhibiting at Argillà Italia in Faenza (near Bologna) on August 30th, 31st and September 1st! We will be taking our wheels down as well as some of my pottery and exhibiting there for a wonderful Italian adventure! So if you live in Italy and have always wanted one of our wheels, come along!

Thanks as always everyone and happy throwing

Selling (and continuing to sell) non refundable deposits shouldn’t be allowed when you are months behind. I’ll just take it as a loss. As a ceramic teachers, I will no longer recommend this brand. What a bad experience.

Hey there! I am now considering getting the old model because the price for the new one is not specified anywhere. I made the pre-order a few months ago and I was wondering if we can get an estimate of the price, if it’s much more expensive I rather just get the old one at this point. Let me know!

Have a lovely day :)

I made a preorder deposit and missed the last drop window. Can I use it for the Aug 21 drop?

Thanks very much for the update. I have the same question as many others in this thread. What will be the primary differences between the classic and the new model? I’m not in a great hurry for this and am prepared to wait if the new and improved model merits the wait.
